Our affiliate relationships
Far Cornel participates in affiliate and advertising programs, including the Amazon Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, Far Cornel earns from qualifying purchases. We may also take part in other affiliate networks and retailer programs from time to time, and when we do, the standards described on this page apply equally to them.
How affiliate links work
When you follow an affiliate link and buy a product, the retailer may pay Far Cornel a small commission. This never changes the price you pay — the commission comes from the retailer’s margin, not from you. You are never obligated to buy anything, and you are free to visit any retailer directly instead of using our links.
Editorial independence
Our recommendations are based on research and practical judgement about camping, 4×4, touring and fishing gear — not on which products pay the highest commission. A commercial relationship with a retailer does not guarantee a positive mention. We describe a product’s drawbacks and the situations where it may not be suitable, and where we have not personally tested a product, we say so.
Honest advertising under Australian Consumer Law
Under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)), businesses must not make misleading or deceptive claims, and should disclose commercial relationships that could reasonably affect how a recommendation is viewed. Always confirm the current price and full product details on the retailer’s own website before you buy. Far Cornel is not the seller and does not process payments, ship goods, or handle returns.
Your consumer guarantees
The consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law — including guarantees as to acceptable quality and fitness for a disclosed purpose — apply between you and the retailer or manufacturer you purchase from, not Far Cornel. If something goes wrong with a product, your rights sit with the business that sold it to you.
